Oregon Bach Festival is pleased to announce the details of its annual Opening Celebration!
The Celebration, which has expanded in the past three years to include family-friendly activities, multiple live performances, community discussions, and exciting surprises, will be held on June 29 from 6pm to 7:15pm in the lobby of the Hult Center for the Performing Arts.
Marimba percussionist David Lee (the winner of the 2018 Eugene Symphony Guild Young Artists Competition), steel drummer Randal Larson, and the 125-voice picfest youth chorus will offer live performances while KWAX music director Peter van de Graaff hosts a pre-concert chat called “Let’s Talk!” The discussion, which includes OBF executive director Janelle McCoy, will focus on the first concert of the season – Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos – as well as the full 2018 Festival schedule.
The Celebration also boasts a photo booth, trivia and games, and an instrument “petting zoo” from Eugene Violin Shop. Complimentary champagne will be served, courtesy of Sundance Wine Cellars, to toast the start of the 2018 Festival season.
The event is free and open to the public. Tickets to the 7:30 concert are not required to attend the Celebration. However, tickets for Brandenburg Concertos featuring Monica Huggett are still available and can be purchased online or at the Hult Center Box Office.
