Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center

January 23, 2022

The Romantic movement blossomed across Europe during the nineteenth century. Johannes Brahms’ Scherzo WoO 2 adhered to the discipline of the classical age, yet, who has ever composed more romantically and with such passion? Gustav Mahler penned his only work of chamber music, Piano Quartet in A minor as an idealistic student, while César Franck brought sensuousness and seriousness to his epic Piano Quintet in F minor. Hear these works and more in a thrilling performance of artists from Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.

Junction Trio

February 6, 2022

Three renowned visionary artists of the next generation combine talents as the eclectic new piano trio performs works from Zorn, Ives, and Schumann.

Black Oak Ensemble

February 20, 2022

The “fierce eloquence” (The Times, London) of violinists Desirée Ruhstrat, Aurélien Fort Pederzoli, and cellist David Cunliffe join forces with flutist Eugenia Molinare for selections of Bach’s Goldberg Variations, as well as pieces from Kattenburg, Debussy, Villa-Lobos, and more.

St. Lawrence Quartet

March 6, 2022

The St. Lawrence Quartet (SLSQ) is “a modern string quartet that brings flexibility, dramatic fire and…a hint of rock ‘n’ roll energy…” (Los Angeles Times). Their “irresistible exuberance” (Boston Globe) shines in a spring concert of Haydn, Dvorak, and Golijov.

ATOS Trio

April 3, 2022

Beethoven trios highlight the final concert of the CMB season, featuring one of Berlin’s leading piano chamber ensembles, ATOS Trio. Never shying from extremes, these artists aim to push limits when it comes to sound and dynamics, and are known for honesty of interpretation.
